DIY Face Mask and Body Scrub

Hi and welcome to Little Miss Holly. Today I will be giving you two recipes to have your own DIY pamper session at home. This avocado and honey face mask and brown sugar and honey body scrub are very easy to make and are cheap as well. This is a collab with Liveandlaugh03 and over on her blog there is even more recipes for a DIY pamper session.

This avocado and honey face mask is really easy to make. It feels so nice and refreshing when it’s on the skin and once you wash it off it feels a bit like the Oatfix fresh face mask from Lush, because it leaves an oily felling on your skin but it is hydrating.

What you need:

1/4 of an avocado

1 tsp honey

1 tsp coconut oil
What to do:

Mash the avocado in a bowl, stir in other ingredients
Spread the face mask all over your face and leave on for 15 minutes. Wash of with water.

This brown sugar and honey body scrub makes your skin feel so smooth afterwards. This is a great gift. My measurements I made up, so just put as much as you want of each item, but this was the original recipe (I didn’t want to make this much)

Original recipe:

1 cup of brown sugar

1/4 cup olive oil

1 tsp honey

1 tsp vanilla extract
What to do:

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl.
Apply onto damp skin and lightly scrub in circular motions.

This was a collab with Liveandlaugh03! Go check out her blog and don’t forget to give her post an like!

My Skincare

Hi and welcome to Little Miss Holly, today I will be showing you my skincare bits and pieces. Enjoy 🙂

First off is a fresh face mask from Lush. I have the one called Oatfix. This one appealed to me because it can cleanse, soften and moisturise and it’s great for dry and sensitive skin. So this is a great mask for the colder months. This face mask is made from bananas, vanilla and oats. This is a great face mask once you ignore the smell. The first time I wore it I could not stand the smell so I washed it off straight away but it felt like the scent stayed on my skin for a long time so I had to go for a walk outside to breathe some fresh air 😂. But the second time I wore it I was only breathing from my mouth. This face mask makes your skin so soft afterwards.

Next is this Pure Active face scrub from Garnier. What appealed to me in this scrub is that you can use it as a wash, scrub and also a mask. I use it for the scrub. My previous face scrub which you can check out here: (.  )was I feel more gentle in the way the scrub bits in it, they were smaller and there was less of them. After using the Pure Active face scrub, my skin feels so fresh and smooth. This product kind of has the smell of cucumbers. They recommend to use this product of you have a oily to combination skin type, which I don’t have, but it works for me anyway (I think I have a normal to dry skin type).

I picked up this lip balm because the packaging was so cute. It’s called Ushas Fruit Lip Balm and I have it in the scent Green Apple. I have seen they also have the Orange scent as well. I picked this up from Cosmetics Plus when I was just looking around and it was really cheap, under $3. I like putting lots of lip balm on my lips and this one is great for that because it gives it a really nice glossy look, as if you have lip gloss on, but the down side with putting quite a bit on is it is quite thick, so it feels a bit like honey on your lips. This lip balm is very moisturising and stays on a long time.

Last but not least is this Express Hydration Body Lotion from Nivea. This moisturiser is for my skint type, Normal to Dry skin, so it works really well for me. I always thought I would be the person who likes really rich and thick moisturisers until I picked up this one. Is sinks into my skin so quickly and it leaves it feeling so soft. Because it sinks in really quickly it makes moisturising not such a chore. I also use this moisturiser on my face, I don’t know if that’s bad. The reason why I got this moisturiser in the first place was because when I went on a holiday to Newcastle, NSW (photos link here: ) and I got a bit sunburnt, so this cream works great for that. Just make sure when applying this moisturiser not to put on too much because it kind of builds up a bit, I don’t really know how to explain it but it’s just when the moisturiser doesn’t really sink in and it kind of clumps in layers on your skin.

I hope you enjoyed this post, if you have any questions or requests please feel free to leave a comment.

Makeup For Under $5

Hi and welcome to Little Miss Holly, I’ve recently done a little bit of makeup shopping and I found some bits and pieces that were under $5, that I really love. Enjoy 🙂

I’m going to start with a matte lipstick from Ulta3. I’ve never had any of their makeup before, only the nail polishes. I had seen a lot of review on Ulta3 products around WordPress so I thought I would give something from them a try. This lipstick is in the shade 066 Nudey. It’s a pretty shade for summer/spring because it is a light, pinky peach nude colour. I have found this lipstick looks smooth on my upper lip bit on my bottom lip it’s a bit uneven and patchy. Even after I exfoliate my lips, but it does help a little bit. This is probably just because my bottom lip is a little bit dry and chapped. I like to top off this lipstick with a little swipe of my Essence XXXL shine lipgloss, this makes my lips look all even. I’m interested in trying another lipstick from Ulta3, one of their non matte ones.

The Essence XXXL Shine Lipgloss definitely has a lot of shine. It’s a sparkly lipgloss that has a sweet, fruity scent to it. Unfortunately I don’t know what shade I have, I think it may have rubbed off, but it’s a light pink colour which looks nice and pretty. The doefoot applicator is soft and let’s you sweep the lipgloss onto your lips lightly and smoothly.

Next is the BYS Eyeliner in Waterproof, the shade 01 Black. This eyeliner is very black but still is a thin consistency. The applicator allows you to apply thicker or thinner lines and I found it was easy to do an eyeliner look.

Last but not least is the Essence Silky Touch Blush in the shade 90 Summer Dreaming. It’s a very smooth and soft blush which gives you a light, pretty colour to your cheeks with a little sparkle as well.

All these products I bought for under $5AU and I think they are all a great bargain for their money.
I hope you enjoyed this post, if you have any questions or requests please feel free to leave a comment.

Beauty Favourites (March 2016)

Hi and welcome to Little Miss Holly, for this blog post I’m going to be showing you my favourite beauty products for this month.

I have been loving the Simple, Clear Skin Oil Balancing Exfoliating Wash. I use this product once a day while in the shower. Sometimes after using this product I like to apply a tiny bit of moisturiser because my face is feeling a little dry. This exfoliator feels like it freshens up my skin and cleans it really well. In the past I’ve had really dry skin and I’ve gotten really bad eczema, I have not received it again in the past few years but I don’t want to irritate my skin again. All of the simple products are great for sensitive skin.

The Impulse Perfume in an Aerosol is great for keeping in your bag because it is quite a small can. I have the scents Romantic Spark and Illusions. Personally my favourite is Romantic Spark. These perfumes are great for on the go if you want to freshen up and there is quite a range of scents to choose from.

Makeup Brush
I have the Natio Kabuki brush and I love it. It is so so soft. I love to use this brush for foundation and powder. After the brush is washed it’s still super soft.

Makeup bag
I have received another Zoella Beauty item, this is the Lace Collar Purse. I use this so much, especially when I go on holiday as it’s prefect for jewellery and little makeup bits. I also put it in my bag with little nic nacs like mints or loose change. It is a great size for putting in your bag as its not too big.

I hope you enjoyed this post, if you have any questions or requests please feel free to leave a comment.

Lush Product Review

Hi and welcome to Little Miss Holly, for this blog post I will be doing a review on some Lush products I have recently tried.

I’m going to start of with Fun, What A Softy! This product smells like lavender. It has many uses, including soap for your body, shampoo, bubble bath, to hand wash your clothes with and to play with like play dough. I personally don’t like using this product in my hair and I find this product is quite time consuming as before you put on your body you have to rub it between your hands. Another thing that is great about this product is you only need a small amount and that goes along way.

Now I will tell you about Snowman, Shower Jelly. This has quite a strong scent. This product can be used for your hair and body, I enjoy using this product for both. If you were to use Snowman for your shampoo, I would suggest having a hydrating conditioner as it does dry your hair out a little bit. The jelly is in the shape of a snowman, which is really cute. The snowman is really hard to hold and would often slip out of my hands. After quite a while of using this product it started to split and break. Now I am left with one half of the snowman in tact and the other half is is about 6 small pieces.

Baked Alaska is my favourite product from this post, it smells of lemon myrtle and citrus and leaves you walking out of the shower feeling nice and refreshed. I don’t have anything to bad to say about this product.

I hope you enjoyed this post, if you have any questions or requests please feel free to leave a comment.

Favourite Beauty Products (December 2015)

Hi and welcome to Little Miss Holly, for this blog post I will be doing a review on my favourite beauty products for this month.

I am loving the Eye Smoothie Creamy Eyeshadow in the shade Lily from Natio. It’s a beautiful, shimmery eyeshadow and really easy and smooth to apply. This is a great eyeshadow base and it will be easy to build more eyeshadows on top. This product lasts a long time and it’s also not that hard to take off. This creamy eyeshadow will be great for day and night looks as this shade will go well with most colours.

Natio Eye Smoothie Creamy Eyeshadow, Lily

The Tanya Burr lipgloss in the colour Aurora is in a beautiful light pink shade. It is so pretty and lasts a long time on the lips but also keeps them hydrated at the same time, which is a bonus. The colour will go with many looks but I think a cute summer/spring look will be even more amazing with Tanya Burr’s Aurora.

Natio have a large range of skincare and makeup products, and they are all such great quality. I have a Natio lipstick in the shade Blossom, this is such a nice colour and it looks quite natural on. It lasts a super long time on the lips and it keeps them mosterised as well. The packaging is really cute and I love how it says ‘Love being you’ on the inside, it gives it a really nice touch.

Natio, Blossom

I am in love with the Jessica Mauboy Be Beautiful perfume. It smells so amazing, the packaging is super cute and the bottle is beautiful. The scent is a little fruity and it reminds me of the beach. This is a perfect scent for summer.

The nail polish I was wearing is the Revlon Brilliant Strength Nail Enamel in the shade 080 Enchant, for a review on this product, click this link:

Favourite Beauty Products (October 2015)

Hi and welcome to Little Miss Holly,
For this post I am going to do a review on my favourite beauty products for this month.

This month I am loving the mist from ‘The Body Shop’, called Japanese Cherry Blossom Fragrance Mist. I love the smell and the scent lasts a long time. I bought mine for approximately $22AUD.

Japanese Cherry Blossom Fragrance Mist

I love to paint my nails but I normally only want a light or nude colour. This is why I love the Revlon Brilliant Strength Nail Enamel. One of the shades I have is 080 ENCHANT. This is a super pretty, light shimmery pink. I think it is a perfect summer nail polish. It is great quality and doesn’t chip or come off easily. You can buy these nail polishes from most likely all chemists. Mine cost about $15AUD.

Revlon Brilliant Strength Nail Enamel

Staying with nails, I’m also loving the Designer Brands Nail Hardener. This is a clear top or base coat, but I also use it as an only coat because it protects your nails and gives them a lovely shine. I have shade 838. It lasts a super long time and I think I have an old style but it cost around $8AUD.

Designer Brands Nail Hardener
I am loving my EOS lip balm. I have it in cool mint and I have noticed my lips are so much softer and they look healthier as well. They are great quality and last a long time on your lips. Unfortunately no shops in Australia sell them but my friend went to America and she was able to bring one back for me.

EOS lip balm
My Eye Kohl Eyeliner Pencil from Designer Brands is in the shade 631 BLACK and it it really smooth to apply. Helpfully, the lid is also a sharpener and that is great for if this is your first eyeliner pencil or you are always losing it because it’s separate. This cost $5AUD.

Designer Brands Eye Kohl Pencil
I am absolutely loving my Zoella Beauty makeup range makeup bag. It is a great size and easy to keep clean. I have the bag from her first range. Its super cute and has many useful ways you can use it. Again, these products do not get sold in Australia, so my friend got one for me from England.

Zoella Beauty Makeup Bag
I know this isn’t a beauty product but inside this book there is beauty advice plus much much more. Love, Tanya is an amazing book. It has so many tips and tricks about skin care, makeup, hair, nail and fashion, but that is only some of the amazing things in this book. This is a must have read.
